Authorities in St. Petersburg detained a driver associated with a car-sharing crossover after reports of dangerous behavior on a city street. The information was circulated through Telegram by the channel MVD Media, which covers traffic and public safety news.
The violator attracted the attention of traffic inspectors during a street encounter. A border guard from Garkovy’s area remarked on the driver’s failure to comply with a stop request. A pursuit ensued as officers attempted to halt the vehicle to prevent further risk to other motorists and pedestrians. During the chase, the cross-border vehicle was fired upon, according to the report.
As a result, the front tires of the crossover sustained gunfire damage. The car was brought to a stop on tram tracks, and the driver was detained. There was also a second passenger inside the vehicle at the time.
The driver related to the car-sharing service was taken into custody and faced a 10-day detention period. The individual is expected to face formal charges as part of the ongoing investigation into reckless driving and endangerment on public roads.
