Skywell ET5: A Chinese electric crossover arrives in Russia
Skywell, the electric vehicle arm of Skyworth, has introduced its first model in Russia, the ET5 crossover. The lineup offers four body colors — white, blue, gray, and black — with two interior finishes available, black and gray, and two trim levels, Comfort and Luxury. This move marks Skywell’s expansion into a competitive market where Chinese EVs are vying for attention alongside established brands.
In terms of size, the Skywell ET5 sits slightly above the Toyota RAV4. Its overall length reaches 4698 mm, compared with the RAV4’s 4600 mm, while the base is notably longer at 2800 mm versus 2690 mm. A front-axle electric motor delivers 204 horsepower, enabling a sprint to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. The vehicle is designed to offer a practical driving range, with the WLTP cycle estimating more than 400 km per charge. These figures put it in a favorable position for daily commutes and leisure trips alike, especially given the growing acceptance of electric propulsion in Russia and neighboring markets.
The interior of the ET5 is positioned as a tech-forward space. A 12.8-inch touchscreen anchors the cabin, supported by full power accessories and comfort features such as heated and ventilated front seats. A patented seat design emphasizes comfort and well-being during longer drives, while the generous panoramic glass area — described as the largest in its class — enhances the sense of openness inside the cabin. These elements have been highlighted as the standout features by Skywell’s marketing materials and reflect a broader trend toward ergonomics and user experience in modern EVs.
From a pricing perspective, the ET5 has entered the Russian market with a price point that places it within reach for a wide range of buyers. The current starting price is set at 4,480,000 rubles, positioning the model as a strong option for customers seeking a well-equipped electric SUV with a modern feature set and a comfortable, technology-driven interior.
Spare tires and community fundraising efforts
There is a separate initiative linked to tire support for police and public services. In collaboration with a national public movement, a campaign has been launched to raise funds for tires that will be allocated to vehicles used by the People’s Police and the operational services of regional authorities. The goal is to equip ambulances, Emergency Ministry vehicles, humanitarian aid convoys, and other critical fleets with reliable tires.
