The crash on the Novorossiysk-Kerch highway, which involved six vehicles, left one person in serious condition. Maria, a relative of one of the injured, shared details with socialbites.ca, explaining that her niece was traveling to Novorossiysk with friends when the collision occurred.
“After learning about the incident, we left Abinsk immediately for Novorossiysk. On the way we passed the crash site—a scene that will stay with us for a long time. A group of young men had been heading to the city for a walk along the embankment when a white Infiniti struck them. We stopped at a safe distance and waited for traffic police to arrive and begin their report. At high speed, a white Mitsubishi slammed into their Chevrolet Niva, sending it careening over a guardrail, spinning, and ending up in the oncoming lane where it collided with a UAZ Patriot. The sequence was brutal: a moving vehicle struck a stationary car, and a driver in poor condition was involved. He was taken for examination, but details about his condition, any intoxication, or medication use remain unclear at this time. Our focus is on the children now in hospital, and we await more information,” Maria explained.
Doctors are currently striving to save the life of one of the young people within the vehicle that carried Maria’s niece. An official familiar with the situation indicated that the young man could face permanent disability, underscoring the severity of the injuries involved.
“We are grateful that all the men survived. Yet our worry is for Sasha, who is nineteen and was seated in the back with my niece. She suffered very serious injuries. We were told that even if Sasha survives, she could be left disabled. She underwent surgery, and doctors cannot yet offer guarantees about recovery. The young patient suffered a clear craniocerebral injury with significant consequences. A large hematoma was removed, but the prognosis remains uncertain,” the person stated.
Relatives of the victims have already identified the person they believe caused the crash: “We relied on our own networks to uncover the responsible party. There are records and photographs circulating, and this person is a dentist who performs implants. He is currently receiving treatment in a hospital in Anapa,” Maria said, indicating they have located the suspected driver through their own inquiries.
The woman added that the driver of the UAZ Patriot also sustained injuries in the collision—foreign metal fragments were found in his hands, and he needed surgical intervention. A nine-month-old boy in the vehicle was diagnosed with an abdominal bruise while secured in a car seat.
The incident on the Novorossiysk-Kerch highway occurred on the night of Monday, May 29, according to information released by the State Traffic Inspectorate of Krasnodar Territory. Officials explained that the crash began as a two-car collision and then, according to preliminary data, four additional vehicles collided with stationary ones, creating a chain of impacts in a very short period of time.”
