Today, the Russian car market officially lists 68 models from 17 brands. In addition, a significantly larger selection exists through parallel imports, where buyers can access more than 500 models from 85 brands.

“From 74 marks we have shrunk to 17 formally. Yet the numbers show that buyers can actually find 85 brands and 501 models on the market. This shift comes as parallel imports have grown, allowing cars to arrive without the direct consent of brand owners”, commented an executive from Avtostat, Sergei Udalov.

In May, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation approved a list of goods eligible for parallel imports, including Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Volkswagen, Audi, Toyota, and others. At the same time, experts note that dealerships in Russia face a scarcity of vehicles from European and American brands, while representatives from Chinese automakers are expanding their presence rapidly.

Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes

Law and order depend on reliable infrastructure; public safety and medical services rely on a stable supply chain. Obstacles to procurement can impact the ability to meet urgent needs across communities.

“Behind the wheel” collaborated with a broad civic effort to raise funds for essential tires destined for the People’s Police and operational services in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, including ambulances, emergency services, and humanitarian aid vehicles. The goal is to secure 7,000 tires in common sizes to keep critical vehicles ready for use. Contributions can be made on the dedicated fundraising page to support these efforts.
