During the second weekend of September, law enforcement on the roads intensifies with patrols aimed at identifying traffic violations, while inspectors spotlight the issue of driving under the influence. Regional authorities from the state traffic inspectorate have outlined plans for the heightened activity and enforcement in various areas.
Toward the end of the week, large-scale and sustained checks are scheduled in the Penza region, Krasnoyarsk Territory, Smolensk region, Kirov region, Ryazan region, Tver region, Altai Republic, and several other districts. From September 11 to 18, in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, drivers who operate vehicles after consuming alcohol will be specifically targeted and stopped for assessment.
In the framework of the so-called “complete checks,” traffic police are stopping vehicles along a designated stretch of roadway to evaluate the situation of each driver. Officials emphasize that officers will pay particular attention to signs of intoxication, including behavior, coordination, and other indicators that may reveal impairment.
Additionally, in the Ryazan region, the police will implement measures to prevent the transportation of children without proper restraints and safety devices. From September 11 to 15, in Chukotka, authorities will monitor for any drivers who may be obstructed or stalled on the road. A preventive campaign named “Safe Truck” is set to begin in Karelia next week, focusing on ensuring secure transport practices for commercial vehicles.
Earlier communications from the Moscow traffic police described upcoming traffic restrictions related to City Day celebrations, outlining detours and temporary traffic adjustments to accommodate public events.
