Russian market update: New Peugeot cars in Russia are not expected to rise in price after the recycling tax increase that took effect on October 1, 2024. Automotive Technologies, the distributor of Peugeot models in the Russian market, supplied this information.

Automotive Technologies emphasizes ongoing efforts to optimize logistics, streamline component sourcing, and expand the direct sales channel. In the near term, the company has no plan to raise prices despite higher recycling fees, according to Pavel Bezruchenko, strategic development director at the company.

The strategy covers both imported versions and a model assembled in Russia. The Citroën C5 Aircross is manufactured at a plant in the Kaluga region. In August, Kaluga region governor Vladislav Shapsha spoke about production at this facility.

Beyond local production, Automotive Technologies handles imports and sales of Citroën C5X and several Peugeot crossovers, including the 4008, 2008, and 5008. The Citroën C5 Aircross is priced from 3,699,000 rubles, the Citroën C5X begins at 4,299,000 rubles, the Peugeot 4008 from 3,899,000 rubles, the Peugeot 2008 from 2,999,000 rubles, and the Peugeot 5008 from 4,199,000 rubles. The Peugeot name has long been a familiar presence in Russia, with dealers describing it as a reliable brand offering European quality and modern technologies. Owners report straightforward maintenance and smooth operation across different models.

All imported Citroën and Peugeot models carry a two-year warranty or 100,000 kilometers, while domestically produced vehicles are covered for three years or 100,000 kilometers. Basic roadside assistance is available around the clock.

Peugeot cars are noted for economical performance and strong safety credentials, supported by Euro NCAP crash tests.

A hallmark of Peugeot is its refined handling and comfortable ride, rooted in a long tradition of European engineering.

Among Russians, the Peugeot 4008 stands out as a popular choice in the C-segment, mid-size crossover class. It offers ample cabin space and suits family needs for city driving as well as longer trips.

In the lineup, the 4008 features premium interior materials, including leather options and leather trim on door panels, with chrome-like and carbon-fiber accents. The driver’s seat is power-adjustable in six directions and includes a massage function and lumbar support. Both front seats are heated, and the passenger seat offers six-way adjustment.

The rear seats fold in a 2/3 or 1/3 split to expand cargo space, and the cabin includes a digital instrument panel with a 12.3-inch touchscreen. Available options include a panoramic sunroof, smart driver assistance systems, and the Grip Control system for light off-road use.

The crossover is equipped with a keyless entry system on both sides, and to boost maneuverability in urban settings it features a 360-degree view system and cruise control. A proven turbocharged engine delivering 175 horsepower is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission supplied by the Japanese company Aisin. The basic version is priced from 3,899,000 rubles.

Forecasts for winter driving warn of harsher conditions ahead for drivers, underscoring the value of a model that blends safety, comfort, and practicality for everyday use. Source: Automotive Technologies
