Under a decree approving amendments to the state program Development of the Transport System, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin authorized allocating 5 billion rubles next year to expand intelligent transport systems across Russian regions. The update signals a strong push to modernize mobility networks and improve traffic efficiency through digital infrastructure.

The latest phase of the program targets connecting at least 85% of traffic lights to centralized traffic management and linking no less than 60% of parking facilities with parking management systems. In addition, information boards will be installed along major roadways to display weather updates, ongoing roadworks, and overall traffic conditions to help drivers plan trips more effectively.

The rollout anticipates that information and navigation systems will soon cover all public transport networks, enhancing passenger experience and operational transparency. ITS deployment is prioritized in settlements with populations exceeding 300,000, with current activity in 49 cities across 42 regions.
