The Rostov Regional Court has ruled on the so-called “Amazon gang,” a group previously found guilty of numerous murders. In its latest sentencing phase, the court confirmed fresh verdicts related to additional episodes of the case and imposed prison terms ranging from 24 to 25 years for the main members of the organization.
The decision identified Inessa and Victoria Tarverdiev, as well as Anastasia and Sergei Sinelnik, as guilty. Based on the accumulation of the crimes, the judge announced the final sentences: Inessa Tarverdiev and Victoria Tarverdiev will serve 25 years in a General Regime colony, Anastasia Sinelnik will receive 24 years in a General Regime colony, and Sergei Sinelnik will be sentenced to 25 years in a Strict Regime colony.

The gang operated from July 2007 to September 2013 across the Stavropol Territory and the Rostov region. It included Inessa and Victoria Tarverdiev, Sergey and Anastasia Sinelnik. One of its grave crimes was the 2009 murder on the federal Don highway of an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from the Nizhny Novgorod region, Dmitry Chudakov, along with his wife and their two young children. In total, the criminals are believed to have carried out at least 10 murders.
The leadership circle included Inessa Tarverdieva and her associate Roman Podkopaev. A traffic police inspector, Sergei Sinelnik, assisted them by identifying locations and victims, aiding in the sale of stolen goods, and providing a police radio station used to monitor officers’ communications. After another murder in September 2013, the gang was neutralized; Podkopaev perished in a shootout.
