The regional traffic authorities across Russia have announced planned checks for the upcoming weekend, March 25-26. Law enforcement will pay close attention to detecting drunk driving, with some areas deploying traffic police from Friday through Monday to conduct intensified road checks.
A number of regions are set to host driver sobriety sweeps and broad road inspections. These regions include Tver, Ivanovo, Samara, Belgorod, Kursk, Ryazan, Kirov, the Altai Republic, Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Republic of Crimea, Smolensk, Lipetsk, and additional districts across the federation.
From March 24 to March 28, Yakutia’s traffic authorities will focus on compliance with child transportation safety rules. The Buryatia State Traffic Inspectorate will run the Driver event from March 24 to March 29, featuring continuous checks on selected road sections. In North Ossetia and Kolyma, inspectors will target disenfranchised drivers on the roads, while the Seat Belt initiative, a preventive program in Novgorod region, will extend through March 26.
Additionally, from March 27 to March 31, Simferopol traffic inspectors will conduct a Borrower raid aimed at identifying drivers and pedestrians with unpaid traffic fines.
Earlier, the Moscow traffic police had announced raids scheduled from March 24 to March 26.
