Mercedes-Benz unveiled the second generation AMG GT Coupe, a model built for performance with all wheel drive and a colossal V8 engine under the hood, as announced by the company’s press team.

The new platform shares DNA with the SL roadster, adding a second two-seat row for smaller passengers up to about 150 centimeters tall, and a 4.0 liter V8 biturbo propelled by the latest engineering refinements.

At market introduction, the coupe arrives in two configurations, the GT 63 and the GT 55. The GT 63 delivers 585 horsepower and 800 Newton meters of torque, sprinting from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour in 3.2 seconds. The GT 55 offers 476 horsepower and 700 Newton meters, reaching the same 0 to 100 km/h mark in 3.9 seconds. The range-topping variant can push beyond 315 kilometers per hour.

Pairing with a nine speed automatic transmission, the all wheel drive system can redistribute traction across all axles or favor the rear wheels to unleash full power when needed. Inside, a 12 inch infotainment screen anchors the cabin, while adaptive suspension, rear steering, high performance brakes, active aerodynamics and available 20 and 21 inch wheels complete the package.

Formerly AvtoVAZ raised Lada car prices.
