A police pursuit in the Sverdlovsk region ended with a car overturning after the driver ignored officers and forced his way along the Siberian Highway in Yekaterinburg. The information comes from the Telegram channel Baza, which reported on the events that unfolded in the afternoon of March 2.

During the chase, the Land Cruiser accelerated past traffic, violating traffic rules and entering oncoming lanes. Police officers fired their service weapons after the driver continued reckless driving. The report notes that an officer fired several shots into the air and eventually discharged the ammunition into the vehicle as a warning and to stop the vehicle.

As the chase progressed, the Land Cruiser broke its rear wheels and attempted to brake, which caused the vehicle to veer off the highway and tumble into a ditch. Inside the car, a 15-year-old girl was present. She was transported to the hospital and subsequently released after examinations showed no serious injuries. The driver was identified as Dmitry Bochkov, a 39-year-old real estate company manager who also happened to be the girl’s father. Bochkov did not hold a valid driver’s license and was reportedly intoxicated at the time of the incident. The police department has prepared an administrative report against the driver, with the possibility of a criminal case being opened later.

In related news from the Sverdlovsk region, the roof of a garage recently collapsed, impacting two ambulances and underscoring ongoing safety concerns in the area.
