Prices for Chinese-made cars in Russia are expected to rise in the near term
Industry observers note that the cost of cars imported from China has already climbed and is likely to go higher in the next several months. The combination of a weaker ruble and steadily rising logistics expenses is pushing retail prices upward, according to dealers across the market.
Forecasts point to a price increase range around ten percent in the near term. This projection reflects several pressure points: currency fluctuations, higher shipping costs, and the ongoing premium that brands from China still command in comparison to some domestic options.
Representatives from the association Russian car dealers report that Chinese models are gaining ground in the spring market, yet they face limited competition beyond national brands. Given the current economic climate and the purchasing power of the population, even if prices edge up, the changes may remain modest in the grand scheme.

Dealers also acknowledge softer consumer demand for vehicles in the Russian market. As a result, some brands may attempt to maintain prices at levels seen at the end of 2022 during the coming months, rather than pursuing aggressive price reductions.
The consensus among dealers is clear: a decline in prices for new Chinese cars is not anticipated under current market conditions.
