Authorities in Irkutsk have detained two local residents in connection with an incident that damaged seven vehicles in a single night. The information comes from the regional ministry of internal affairs, which outlined the events and the steps taken by investigators.
The investigation began several days ago when a local resident reported that his car had been damaged by unidentified individuals during the night. Law enforcement officials reviewed security camera footage, which helped map out potential escape routes used by the suspects. Based on this evidence, officers were able to identify and locate the individuals involved.
Both detainees are from the Irkutsk area. According to one of the suspects, there had been a recent argument with his wife, followed by an interaction with a friend and then involvement in the incidents. He indicated that the motive behind entering other people’s cars was to plead guilty for his actions. In total, seven cars were damaged during the same night, and the extent of the financial damage has not yet been disclosed.

In another recent case, a vagrant in Yekaterinburg was reported to have knocked out two traffic cops while operating a VAZ-2101, underscoring ongoing concerns about public safety in the region.
