The passenger train running from Orsk to Moscow collided with a KamAZ truck at a crossing, according to the press service of the Southern Railway.

Initial information indicates that the KamAZ driver moved onto the tracks in front of the approaching passenger train No. 31 on the Orsk–Moscow route, despite a clearly functioning warning system. The driver attempted an urgent stop, but the distance proved insufficient, and the collision could not be avoided, the report states.

As a result, the locomotive derailed along with one wheel set. A rescue train remains at the accident site. Preliminary data suggest no casualties at this stage.

Following the incident, the locomotive sustained mechanical damage and the monorail system also appears to be impaired, according to the local transportation prosecutor’s office. Train traffic on the line has been halted while repairs and investigations proceed.

In related coverage, insurers previously identified a taxi brand that is most frequently involved in accidents across Russia, with the analysis pointing to Datsun as the common vehicle involved. This finding reflects broader traffic safety concerns raised by insurers in recent assessments.

Earlier reports highlighted effective strategies for staying cheerful and alert while driving, emphasizing health-conscious habits and safe driving practices as important complements to road safety information.
