In the official Telegram community Omoda 5 Fan Club, a lively debate is underway among representatives of Chery’s authorized dealers in Russia about the brand’s upcoming entry. The debut of the first Omoda C5 model is anticipated in September rather than October, as earlier rumors suggested. Dealers taking part in the discussion have not published price figures yet, though they have hinted that price lists exist and are circulating internally.

The Omoda Russia Telegram channel has shared some details:

At the core of the Omoda C5 lies a 1.5‑liter turbo petrol engine delivering 147 horsepower and peak torque of 210 Nm. This powerplant is paired with a transmission that is likely a continuously variable unit, contributing to efficiency and smooth acceleration. The C5 is described as a compact crossover with a dynamic character, balancing technical excellence and everyday practicality. Three drive modes are expected: Eco, Normal, and Sport, with a published target of 0 to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds. The vehicle is reported to be front‑wheel drive only.

Earlier, a dealership source suggested that the cars are already produced and undergoing preparation for their presentation. At the same time, Rosstandart’s vehicle type approval database reportedly shows no records for the Omoda C5 yet, hinting at a staggered regulatory process or delays in formal certification.

Forecasts for the market indicate that two crossovers along with a new sedan would make their way into Russia in the near term, with broader model line expansion anticipated by 2025. The Omoda 5, positioned as a compact crossover coupe, measures approximately 4400 mm in length, 1830 mm in width, and 1588 mm in height. In terms of segment positioning, it sits alongside rivals such as the Haval Jolion and the Geely Coolray, offering a blend of style and practicality designed to attract urban customers who value modern features and efficient performance.
