In Novotroitsk, two police officers risked being crushed as they clung to a car during the capture of a gang implicated in summer-time thefts. This update came from the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, relayed via the Telegram channel.
The officers spotted the vehicle used by the accomplices, but the suspects attempted to flee. The driver executed aggressive maneuvers, and one officer grabbed at the car door, though a secure hold could not be established. In a dramatic moment, the second officer struck the hood of the speeding vehicle with his hand and then tried to reach the ignition key as the front seat passenger resisted. The officer, however, slipped and fell onto the asphalt while the chase continued. Reinforcements arrived, and three male suspects were detained from inside the car, including a minor. The gang is suspected of breaking into country houses, where televisions and other household appliances were stolen and later found in the vehicle. Multiple criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incident, and commendations are expected for the officers who acted decisively under pressure.
Earlier, a driver in the Kurgan region who was operating a domestic-registered vehicle faced an aggressive confrontation with a State Traffic Inspectorate employee. The officer dragged the suspect along the street during an escalation, and a criminal case was initiated on charges of violence against a public official. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot, and the status of the officer involved was not disclosed at the time of reporting.
In a separate development, reports indicating misconduct surfaced, showing a regional head of the Ministry of Emergencies in Rostov region involved in the theft of a fire truck. The incident was captured on video, prompting an investigation into the alleged wrongdoing and the subsequent actions taken by authorities.
