The father of two boys, aged 8 and 13, who were riding a motocross bike in Novouralsk and were struck by a traffic police patrol during a pursuit, plans to file complaints with the prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee regarding the actions of the police. “Rise” reported on the incident.
He said he expects a thorough review of the officers’ conduct and is prepared to pursue accountability for what he describes as a dangerous and potentially unlawful chase.
According to him, he also intends to seek compensation for both material and moral damages connected with the severe damage to his dirt bike, which he relied on for daily life and family errands.
“The boys were shaken and in pain all day. The younger one is currently unable to recall how they ended up on the motorcycle with his older brother. He shows signs of shock and possible memory trouble,” the father explained, stressing the impact on his children’s health.
He asserted that the police did not issue a stop command over a loudspeaker, and that the crash occurred after the older boy heard the siren and assumed a fire engine was approaching from behind.
The incident in Novouralsk, in Sverdlovsk region, involved a collision between a patrol car and a dirt bike. After the crash, the children landed on concrete slabs, highlighting the severe physical danger faced by minors during high-speed police operations.
Earlier, in Miass, there was a separate case where a Niva driver was attacked during a traffic dispute, allegedly with an axe, and vehicles were damaged in the confrontation. The sequence of events underscores ongoing tensions on the road and raises questions about the safety protocols used by law enforcement in high-speed pursuits.
