North Ossetia: Driver Detained After Striking Traffic Police During Inspection

In North Ossetia, authorities detained the driver of a Lada Granta after the vehicle struck a traffic police inspector during a routine document check. This was reported through the Telegram channel of the Republic’s Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident unfolded in the Prigorodny district when the driver refused to comply with police requests and was blocked by two patrol cars. The police statement notes that the young driver ignored repeated commands to halt, obstructed the duties carried out by state traffic inspectors, and assaulted one of the officers. The injured police employee sought medical evaluation for injuries sustained during the incident. The suspect was handcuffed and taken into custody, and a criminal case was opened under the article covering violence against a public servant. In a separate note, authorities recalled a prior incident in the Novosibirsk region in which a driver accused traffic police officers of stealing beer and money from a vehicle.
