North American Localization Effort for Mikron Automotive Microcircuits
At the Mikron facility, a catalog of ten automotive microcircuits has been prepared for shipment. These components are ready for localization across body electronics, engine control units, driver assistance systems, and lighting modules, enabling automakers in Canada and the United States to adapt and deploy advanced electronics more rapidly.
The assortment features both standard chips and variants tailored to the specific needs of individual vehicle brands, underscoring Mikron’s ability to deliver flexible, brand-aware solutions for North American manufacturers.
According to Evgeny Kuzmin, deputy general manager for commercial operations at Mikron JSC, thirty-two microcircuits are already prepared for development and can be produced with existing equipment. In the near term, a further forty variants can be designed and brought into production, boosting localization in automotive electronics and lifting the share of domestically produced components to eighty percent.
Mikron’s offerings are actively adopted by automotive manufacturers in Russia as part of a broader strategy to reduce import dependence and strengthen domestic supply chains. This approach aligns with global shifts toward resilient, locally sourced automotive electronics.
