Citywide car sharing promo kicks off in Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi
A large promotional push has rolled out across three major Russian cities: Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sochi. Car sharing users who take part can win prizes and receive bonus credits as part of the campaign. The effort is led by the Moscow Ministry of Transport together with local car sharing operators to encourage more people to choose shared mobility.
Participation is simple. Look for a car bearing the distinctive promotional design and the Carshday sticker on its side, then rent it for at least one trip to be automatically entered into the promotion. The event is designed to be easy to join for both existing customers and new users who want to try car sharing for the first time.
The promotion runs for eight days only, from August 18 to August 25. At the end of the period, twelve winners will be selected at random. The prize distribution includes three winners from each service provider among the four participating brands: Yandex Drive, Delimobil, Citydrive, and BelkaCar. This setup ensures a broad opportunity for riders across the different networks to benefit from the campaign.
New users who have not yet used a car sharing service can download any of the participating apps, enter the promotional code Carshday, and receive a welcome bonus before joining the promotion and competing for prizes. Detailed participation conditions are published on the promo site so entrants can easily verify eligibility, entry limits, and prize values as the event unfolds.
Marking the campaign’s finale, August 25 will feature an unmissable exhibition showcasing cars from all four participating car sharing providers. The event will take place in Moscow at the Northern River Station, giving residents and visitors a chance to see the latest models up close and to learn how shared mobility fits into urban transport strategies.
Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Issues, commented on the impact of car sharing in the city. He noted that many residents are choosing shared mobility over private ownership. He highlighted that daily ride counts in Moscow reach around 150,000 when shared cars are in use, and on average each car serves about seven riders per day. This pattern helps reduce road congestion and lowers air pollution. The city plans continued support for car sharing through subsidies to operators and ongoing policy initiatives designed to expand access to shared mobility while maintaining urban livability and environmental goals. These efforts align with broader city strategies to promote sustainable transport options and to encourage residents to explore convenient, affordable alternatives to car ownership.
