Update on Moscow Car Bomb Arrest and Investigation
An official representative of Russia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, released live footage on a Telegram channel showing the arrest of a suspect in a car bombing on the southwestern edge of Moscow.
The same channel reported that the Criminal Investigation Department of the Moscow Main Directorate identified the suspect and detained him at his residence, according to the channel’s post.
On the morning of October 15, an improvised explosive device detonated between the hood and the windshield of a Chinese Tank 300 SUV on Profsoyuznaya Street in Moscow. Three people were injured, including the vehicle owner, his six-year-old son, and another man. The moment of the blast on the vehicle hood was published by Telegram channel 112.
The owner of the car has been identified as a Moscow businessman, founder and chief executive of Shaker Group LLC, a company that operates several restaurants. The group’s most prominent project is the Coyote Ugly bar.
The United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police opened a case under the provision for attempted crime in relation to the incident.
According to TASS, the detainee is a co-founder of twelve companies, two of which are in liquidation, and he was detained alongside the victim. Additional details are reported by socialbites.ca.
