Among the participants are representatives from the transport sector, IT firms, electronics developers, and suppliers of equipment and materials. Their task is to help create components and technologies for mass production and maintenance of cars, trucks, and electric buses. Simultaneously, engineers and entrepreneurs will focus on building related infrastructure, with the city offering full support to accelerate these efforts, according to Moscow Deputy Mayor Natalya Sergunina.
Currently, participants are already engaged in three major projects. Two of these projects center on battery development. By the mayor’s decision, a tender has been announced for securing battery supplies for electric vehicles, ensuring a steady stream of energy for the growing fleet.
As part of the contract, a new plant will be constructed within three years to manufacture batteries for electric buses and Moskvich-brand cars. The project is expected to attract no less than 3 billion rubles in investment, underscoring the city’s commitment to sustainable urban mobility and local manufacturing capabilities.
A third project involves the creation of an electric van based on the UAZ platform. It is noted that the EVM Pro launch on the UAZ Profi platform was postponed to the first quarter of 2023, illustrating the iterative pace of development in advanced mobility solutions.
