Modernization and Price Shifts for the Granta
Over time, the Granta has undergone multiple rounds of modernization. The first wave came during a period of close collaboration with the Renault Group, while the second occurred in recent years amid new market pressures and a fresh economic crisis. The updates included several trim upgrades and new body color options, culminating in a comprehensive restyling that refreshed the model’s appearance and appeal. In its earliest configuration, the factory valued the simplest Grant at 229 thousand rubles.
Today, the recommended retail price for the Grant starts at 678,300 rubles. The minimum price of the model has risen by 196.2 percent, effectively approaching a threefold increase. This sharp growth does not erase the model’s enduring popularity or its strong value proposition, yet it must be weighed against inflation and the broader, often difficult, picture of the automotive market in recent years.
Despite the upswing in price, the Granta remains a pivotal product for AVTOVAZ, helping the company reestablish production and supply chains under sanctions. In fact, the program recently reached another milestone when key subcontractors for the plant located an additional component critical to ongoing assembly and output.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
Tire supply is a matter of public order and essential services. Without reliable tire stocks, the ability to maintain mobility for critical operations can be severely hampered. In response, a campaign was launched to mobilize resources for tire purchases that directly support public safety and humanitarian missions.
Partnering with the Popular Front, the initiative is collecting funds to equip cars used by the People’s Police and operational services in regions facing conflict, including ambulances, emergency response vehicles, humanitarian aid delivery units, and logistics vehicles supporting Donbass communities. Contributions are welcome on the collection page and will be allocated to acquiring tires in widely used sizes to ensure readiness and resilience of essential fleets. This effort reflects a broader commitment to sustaining public service capabilities during challenging times.
