Operating under the name “MB RUS,” the former Mercedes-Benz Russia division will bring Chinese-made commercial vehicles from the Forland and Foton brands to the Comtrans fair in Moscow. The company confirmed this plan in a press release received by socialbites.ca, signaling a strategic push to broaden its regional offerings with cost-conscious, practical options for fleets and small businesses alike.
Under the Forland banner, lightweight and medium-duty chassis with a gross vehicle weight ranging from 3 to 12 tons will be introduced in Russia. The lineup will offer three distinct wheelbase options and a variety of cargo module sizes, designed to suit diverse transport needs. Buyers can expect a modern feature set that includes active safety systems, air conditioning, a multimedia system, and other conveniences aimed at improving efficiency and driver comfort across urban and regional logistics scenarios.
Additionally, the low-tonnage Foton Toano, a vehicle developed with input from the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter team, will be showcased. It is equipped with a 2.8-liter turbodiesel producing 149 horsepower and 330 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. The Toano will be presented in two configurations: an all-metal cargo van and a passenger-oriented bus variant. In Russia, MB RUS had previously launched the sale of AITO and LiXiang vehicles, broadening its portfolio with new brands and confirming a continued commitment to offering practical, value-driven commercial options for regional buyers.
