A local lawmaker from the Duma was found along a road in the Tula region, according to the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for Tula.

According to preliminary information, on the afternoon of February 8, 2024, a member of the Tula Regional Duma, Mikhail Gryazev, was located beside a road near the village of Stukalovo. The body was inside a car parked on the roadside, with no signs of life reported.

The Investigative Committee said it is conducting an inquiry into the deputy’s death.

Public records indicate that Mikhail Gryazev was born on September 7, 1961, in Tula, the son of gunsmith Vasily Gryazev. He completed his doctoral work in 2002 and led Tula State University from 2006 to 2021. Since 2009 he had served as a deputy in the Tula Regional Duma, contributing to regional policy over many years.

In other regional news, reports note that in Cherkessk a local diaspora leader’s son, accompanied by friends, opened fire in the city streets. The incident is being investigated under charges related to disobedience to police, with case documents forwarded to the court for review.

Earlier, a man with a firearm fired into the air while wandering near Yekaterinburg, drawing police attention.
