The Liebherr T 282B is recognized today as the largest dump truck in existence. No other mining truck matches its capacity, and its sheer size allows it to carry cargo that would be impractical for any other vehicle. In its cargo bay, even a sizeable mansion could be transported with ease.
The machine boasts a load capacity of 363 tons and a total weight of 592 tons. Its dimensions are impressive: 14.5 meters in length, 8.8 meters in width, and 7.4 meters in height. The fuel tank holds 4,730 liters, and typical operating consumption runs around 174 liters per hour.
Standing beside this land dreadnought, the truck resembles a ship on land. Its scale, railings, and three ladders leading up to elevated decks evoke a ship’s bridge, prompting a sense of awe and a touch of humor about command on the road. Inside the cockpit, a second seat accommodates a passenger alongside the driver. Rather than a traditional instrument panel, a liquid crystal display provides all essential information and streams video from cameras around the vehicle for situational awareness.
The price for this extraordinary cargo demonstration ranges from four to five million dollars, depending on the chosen configuration.
