Legal battle over a road crash in the Krasnoyarsk Territory and Kirov region

A Krasnoyarsk Territory resident pursued a legal fight that stretched over three years to clear his name in a traffic accident case in the Kirov region, according to Krasmash. In 2019, a woman stopped at an intersection intending to turn left. At that moment a Toyota Land Cruiser collided with the woman’s vehicle, which had edged into the oncoming lane. The traffic police arrived about six hours after the collision.

The official report identifies the SUV driver as businessman Bakhtiyar Gusenov, and it lists his representative as Vladimir Telpukov, the former head of the Internal Affairs Directorate who handled the case paperwork. Telpukov stated that the woman herself had moved into the oncoming lane.

The publication notes that the woman, described as inexperienced after seven years without an incident, signed a plan that did not reflect the absence of clear road signs. This claim later influenced the court proceedings. Three inspectors were reassigned, examinations and deadlines were postponed, and even a concussion certificate was not taken into account, Kras Mash reported.

Three years after the incident, the court cleared the driver, finding the Toyota Land Cruiser driver responsible for the collision.
