New Leadership at Aurus Signals Fresh Growth and Export Ambitions
The former Renault executive responsible for operations in Russia, Andrey Pankov, assumed the role of head for the Russian premium marque Aurus on December 28. This leadership shift comes as Aurus positions itself for accelerated expansion across multiple markets and strengthens its efforts to scale as a recognizable global luxury brand.
As part of his public remarks, Pankov outlined an ambitious trajectory: the company aims to accelerate industrialization, drive higher production volumes, and elevate Aurus into a broader, multi-directional promotional strategy. The leadership intends to broaden the brand’s footprint not only within Russia but also in export markets, signaling a strategic pivot toward international growth and competitive positioning on the world stage.
Previously, in the early months of 2022, Adil Shirinov, who would later assume the role of chairman of the board of directors at Sollers, stepped away from his Aurus duties. Following that transition, Nikolai Khodosevich, who had served as executive director, took on the responsibilities of Aurus’s head. This sequence of leadership changes has been part of the evolving governance that aligns Aurus with its growth objectives and potential global partnerships. Andrey Pankov’s tenure as Renault’s CEO in Russia from 2015 to 2019 is noted as part of his extensive leadership background, after which Jan Ptacek succeeded him in that role.
