Lawmakers from the Liberal Democratic Party have introduced legislation aimed at offering free parking near social institutions. In discussing the measure, Yaroslav Nilov, deputy head of the LDPR faction, explained the proposal on the party’s Telegram channel.

The bill would permit vehicles to be parked near social infrastructure facilities without paying standard parking fees. The parliamentarian noted that amendments to the law “On the Regulation of Road Traffic” and several related regulatory acts would be submitted to the State Duma on February 10.

“In normal locations, this could be implemented within three hours. For people with disabilities, in private lots, it could be indefinite. Visitors to social institutions would not have to pay for parking,” Nilov wrote.

The MP argued that charging for parking near hospitals, schools, kindergartens, cultural centers, and other institutions today makes access less convenient and less comfortable for those entering these facilities.
