Russians increasingly favor the refreshed Lada Vesta over the older pre-design variants like the Lada Granta and various affordable foreign models, a trend noted by Rossiyskaya Gazeta based on insights from Alexander Shaprinsky, who leads the Pragmatika dealership network’s development. The shift toward the updated Vesta line is shaping purchase dynamics across the retail network, with clear signals from June activity that underline how customers evaluate value, reliability, and long-term ownership costs when choosing between domestic refinements and familiar foreign sedans.

In the June sales data, the share of Lada Vesta transactions within participating dealerships reached a noteworthy 35%. A significant portion of these transactions involved vehicles from the earlier generation of Lada products, including Granta and other models produced before 2018, which continued to appeal to buyers seeking affordability without sacrificing basic comfort. Among foreign competitors, established sedans such as the Volkswagen Polo, Hyundai Solaris, and Kia Rio had already solidified their standing in the market for more than five years, underscoring the ongoing competition that Vesta faces as it evolves.

The introduction—and consequently, the growing popularity—of the updated Lada Vesta began on June 9, 2023. The base price for a sedan starts at 1,239,900 rubles in the Comfort configuration equipped with a 90-horsepower engine and a five-speed manual transmission. For customers who desire more performance, the lineup offers an option between a 90-horsepower and a 106-horsepower engine in the initial configuration. The top-end Techno configuration raises the suggested retail price to 1,564,900 rubles, reflecting a step up in features and technology while retaining the essential practical appeal that has long defined the Vesta family. This pricing approach demonstrates how the brand positions the new model as a compelling choice for a broad spectrum of buyers, from budget-conscious families to more demanding urban drivers who value modern convenience and improved efficiency.

Market observers have also noted related manufacturing shifts that bolster confidence in domestic automotive expansion. Earlier reports highlighted the start of production for the Lada X-Cross 5 at the St. Petersburg facility that was formerly linked to Nissan. This development signals a broader strategy to leverage existing industrial capacity while introducing new product variants. Looking ahead, the plan envisions additional new products entering production within the next couple of years, reinforcing a narrative of renewed manufacturing momentum and a more diverse product lineup for Russian consumers.
