The Russian car-maker AvtoVAZ has restarted production of the Lada Niva Travel SUV. This update comes directly from the brand’s press office, signaling a renewed push for a compact, off-road oriented model designed to blend everyday usability with trail-ready capability.

In terms of equipment, the basic package for the Lada Niva Travel is straightforward yet practical. It includes standard power steering, front electric windows, heated exterior mirrors, the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system, and LED rear lighting. The lineup also features steel protection for the engine cradle, an on-board computer, and a central locking system. Specific pricing and available configurations were not released at the time of the announcement, with the company promising to share those details in the near future.

From a technical standpoint, the SUV remains unchanged under the hood and chassis. It continues to be powered by a 1.7-liter gasoline engine delivering about 80 horsepower, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. The vehicle is offered with a driver-focused package, maintaining the rugged, utilitarian character that has defined the Niva Travel family in recent years.

Previously, AvtoVAZ had disclosed the start of sales for the Lada Niva Legend in the new Classic configuration for the 2022 model year. Pricing at that time was set at 647,600 rubles when taking advantage of a preferential loan program, or 796,500 rubles without the loan benefit. The continuing appeal of the Niva Legend in its Classic variant underscores AvtoVAZ’s strategy of preserving the brand’s heritage while presenting modernized, accessible options for compact SUV buyers.
