The leadership of AVTOVAZ does not rule out the possibility that the Lada brand could capture as much as half of the Russian car market by the end of 2023, even though the plant itself does not set this as an explicit objective.
The forecast from AVTOVAZ’s top executives hinges on the expectation that the Russian market for cars and light commercial vehicles will total around 800,000 units next year.
“If the market is not dramatically smaller in relative terms but sits at a baseline around 800,000, and the company plans to produce about 400,000 units, then a straightforward comparison of these figures supports a 50% share based on the parameters already outlined,” according to Maxim Sokolov, cited as the source.
It is worth recalling that in August the Lada brand approached the market share not seen since 2007, when the carmaker last accounted for about 40% of vehicles sold. By the close of 2022, the same figure could reemerge as a point of reference.
Requires 7,000 tires in popular sizes
Without public support, public order cannot be guaranteed, nor can medical services reach those who need them most. The alliance known as “Behind the Wheel” and the Popular Front have launched a fundraising effort aimed at supplying tires for cars used by the People’s Police and the operational services within the LPR and DPR. With these tires, ambulances, emergency vehicles, humanitarian aid transports to residents of Donbass, and military equipment can keep moving. Contributions can be made on the collection page.
