Production of the Lada Largus, assembled in Izhevsk, will begin with basic configurations before expanding to more options. This plan was shared by the Telegram channel Avtopotok, which cited information from a source at AvtoVAZ.

The initial lineup is expected to be simple, with more upmarket versions following later. The same source noted that an optional feature includes opening rear windows, a detail that will appear in the broader configuration mix as production progresses. AvtoVAZ has sent a significant team from Tolyatti to Izhevsk to train local staff, ensuring smooth operations as the line ramps up.

Commercial Largus units at the Lada Izhevsk plant are slated to start production in May, marking a key milestone in the brand’s regional manufacturing strategy.

In mid-August 2023, AvtoVAZ announced the conclusion of Largus production at the Tolyatti plant. By autumn, equipment began relocating to the Izhevsk facility, where Largus production was planned to resume in 2024. The move aligns with broader plans to increase Vesta production at the main Tolyatti site, highlighting a shift in resources within the company’s manufacturing footprint.

The transfer of the Largus project to Izhevsk and the initiation of production are projected to require approximately 2 billion rubles in investment, underscoring the scale of the relocation and the modernization efforts involved.

Earlier reports suggested that AvtoVAZ could expand its family-car lineup, leveraging the Izhevsk site to broaden its portfolio while maintaining a steady manufacturing cadence across its facilities.
