In the coming years, the Lada Izhevsk plant, which stopped producing the Lada Vesta family in 2023 as the line moved to Tolyatti, could become a key site for manufacturing a range of automotive components. The exact terms and nomenclature are still being finalized, but the topic is under consideration at the government level in Udmurtia. This was stated by the republic’s head, Alexander Brechalov.

AVTOVAZ has mapped out a roadmap for the company’s development. Core objectives include launching the Lada e-Largus and producing components for the Lada Vesta. Regular reviews of the roadmap and its implementation are planned. An instruction to the Republic’s Minister of Industry directs work on organizing auto parts production under the import replacement program at the Lada-Izhevsk Industrial Park site, Brechalov wrote in Telegram.

It is noteworthy that on August 29, both LADA-Izhevsk and AVTOVAZ’s main site in Togliatti returned to a five-day work week after a lengthy shutdown. Brechalov met with the Izhevsk plant’s management and the union to discuss the roadmap, which functions as a project plan detailing goals, steps, and responsible parties.

When the decision was made to shift the Vesta production to Tolyatti, AVTOVAZ retained the manufacture of components for this family, stamp production, and plastic production at Izhevsk. In the near term, the Izhevsk division is expected to master the assembly of the Lada e-Largus electric vans.

  • The government of Udmurtia believes this change will meet strong demand in the market.
  • Further information about the project and developments can be found through official announcements from regional authorities.
