The Volga Automobile Plant has stated through its press service that there are no plans to produce the Lada Iskra. Earlier reports circulated in the media showing design sketches of a new AvtoVAZ crossover, with speculation that the vehicle could be offered in 2023 at a price around 700,000 rubles.
The official statement stressed that the proposed crossover has no connection to the company’s upcoming projects. Nevertheless, the brand expressed appreciation for the fans who share ideas for new models, noting that Lada will continue to roll out fresh designs and will announce developments as soon as they are confirmed.
Media coverage had suggested that a domestic designer presented the concept image of the new Lada Iskra crossover, allegedly developed by AvtoVAZ in 2022–2023 in collaboration with Chinese engineers from Chery. This narrative gained traction among enthusiasts and industry observers, fueling discussions about potential partnerships and the future direction of Lada.
Earlier reports on socialbites.ca mentioned that the Lada Granta had certain features updated for efficiency, including enhancements to steering and power windows. These notes reflected ongoing efforts to modernize existing models while new projects were under consideration.
