A speculative concept for the Lada Iskra and its strategic place in AvtoVAZ’s lineup

Nikita Chuiko, a visual artist, contributed to the Quto portal by imagining what the forthcoming Lada Iskra might look like, offering a speculative yet visually grounded concept of the model.

The design note explains that the drawing drew inspiration from images found in the AvtoVAZ patent database housed at the Federal Institute of Industrial Property. In its early stages, the Iskra was linked to the XJO project, which rolled out on a budget platform derived from the Renault family. Essentially, the future Lada Iskra is positioned as the closest kin to the third-generation Renault Logan.

A road-test prototype of the Lada Iskra was observed during the summer of 2023 in Tolyatti. According to AvtoVAZ president Maxim Sokolov, Iskra production was planned to begin by the end of 2024, with sales anticipated in the first quarter of 2025. The budget-friendly Iskra would run in parallel with the Granta, a model expected to be discontinued sometime around 2026 or 2027.

All planned body variants for the Lada Iskra include a sedan, a hatchback, and a cross-hatchback configuration, ensuring a range of practical choices for different buyer needs.

Earlier industry notes highlighted the launch of the first batch of Lada Largus station wagons from Izhevsk, marking another milestone in the brand’s broader lineup evolution.

In summary, the Lada Iskra emerges as a project that blends design concept with patent-validated influence and strategic positioning within AvtoVAZ’s 2024–2025 production and portfolio plans. The vehicle’s development reflects a continued effort to offer affordable options while aligning with Renault-based engineering platforms, thereby expanding the brand’s footprint across Canada and the United States as market readiness evolves. Citations indicate AvtoVAZ official communications and industry reports corroborate production timelines and model family planning.
