The Lada Granta Kub Passenger Modification by Promtech

The passenger version of the Lada Granta Kub represents a new step forward in the Kub family of light commercial vehicles, produced by Industrial Technologies (Promtech). This model blends the front of the Granta passenger car with a power metal superstructure that is clad in integral composite panels on the outside and lined with ABS plastic on the interior. Extending the wheelbase to 3050 mm enhances road stability and overall driving comfort, making it a practical option for both work and everyday use.

Available configurations include a five-seat cargo variant with a second-row passenger bench and an eight-seat passenger configuration. In the five-seat setup, the rear cargo area measures 1540 by 1440 millimeters behind the second-row seating. The eight-seat option replaces the cargo area with a three-seat sofa in the rear, increasing passenger capacity while maintaining flexibility for different loads and passenger needs.

Entrance is made easier by high doors standing at 1250 millimeters and an interior cabin height of 1320 millimeters, which together create a more comfortable entry and exit for passengers and easier access for cargo handling.

Under the hood, the basic Granta Kub is equipped with a 1.6-liter VAZ-11182 petrol engine delivering 90 horsepower. An optional upgrade lifts output to 116 horsepower, providing more robust performance for highway driving and heavier loads. A five-speed manual transmission is standard in both configurations, aligning with the vehicle’s practical, commercial-oriented design and fuel-efficient operation.

Market timing estimates suggest a rollout starting in December, with pricing indicating an 8-seat minibus at approximately 1,750,000 rubles, while the five-seat version carries a slightly lower price by about 50,000 rubles. These figures reflect a balance between utility, capacity, and affordability for fleet buyers and large households alike.

Promtech adopts a direct sales approach, with shipments available ex works. This means orders can bypass dealer stockholding, potentially impacting delivery times and price dynamics for customers. While Lada dealers may offer the Granta Kub, the final prices may differ from direct Promtech terms due to distribution structures and service arrangements.

All components and assemblies come with the AVTOVAZ warranty, and the installed superstructure is covered by Promtech’s guarantee, ensuring a level of assurance for buyers regarding performance and after-sales support. This combination of engineering, warranty coverage, and flexible sales channels positions the Lada Granta Kub as a versatile option for commercial use, family transport, or passenger service within the regional markets of Russia and neighboring regions where Promtech operates.
