The Industrial Technologies enterprise unveiled the Lada Granta Cub, a multi-seat variant designed for roomy cabin comfort. The model lineup includes a five-seat version boasting generous luggage capacity, alongside an eight-seat configuration built to maximize interior space for passengers. Both variants emphasize practicality and versatility, aiming to address families and group travel with a compact footprint and clever interior layout.
In terms of release timing, the five-seat Cub was scheduled to reach markets in December 2022, followed by the eight-seat version in February 2023. Pricing was projected at 1.7 million rubles, positioning the Cub within a competitive segment for buyers seeking a budget-friendly, spacious option that still delivers on durability and utility. The rollout strategy reflects a phased approach, allowing dealerships to showcase the distinct seating arrangements and cargo configurations to prospective buyers across regions where such seven-seat practicality is in demand.
The model’s wheelbase stretches nearly half a meter longer than the standard Grants, contributing to a notably extended cabin feel. This elongation translates to improved headroom and legroom for second- and third-row passengers, who can converse more easily during longer trips. The Cub benefits from a rear air suspension system, a feature that enables lowering the vehicle to ease entry and exit while preserving ride quality. The combined effect is a more accessible cabin with a practical loading height of 700–780 millimeters and a standing clearance of about 1.32 meters to ensure headroom remains comfortable for most occupants, even with the third row in use.
The passenger superstructure relies on a sturdy metal frame, wrapped with outer panels crafted from composite materials and finished on the interior with ABS plastic. This construction mirrors a balance of strength and lightness, designed to withstand daily wear and tear while offering a refined interior finish that enhances the overall impression of sturdiness and practicality. The exterior shell emphasizes durability and ease of maintenance, while the interior surfaces prioritize touch feel, ease of cleaning, and long-term resilience against everyday bumps and scuffs.

Note: The Cub’s design language aligns with a practical, family-oriented philosophy, where cabin flexibility, ease of access, and robust build are central to the user experience. This approach is consistent with ongoing efforts to deliver value and reliability in multi-passenger vehicles that balance seating versatility with efficient use of cargo space, catering to buyers who need more room without stepping up to a larger SUV class.
