Lada Granta 1.6 (90 HP), M5

  • Manufacturer — AVTOVAZ, Togliatti
  • Year of issue — 2021
  • In operation “Behind the wheel” started in spring 2022
  • Mileage at the time of the report — 18,000 km

The Grant has recently shown a notable drop in fuel usage. After a series of checks, the average consumption decreased from 8.5 L/100 km to a cruising range of 6.5 to 7.0 L/100 km.

Three factors appear to be at play. First, the summer heat has waned and the air conditioning is seldom used. Second, the engine has completed a proper break-in period after 15,000 km of operation. Third, there were multiple trips from the southern regions toward central Russia. The 90 horsepower 11182 engine is tuned for a relaxed cruise, holding a steady pace around 100 to 110 km/h with limited opportunities for rapid overtaking, which means there is little incentive to push the acceleration beyond comfortable limits.

Despite these conditions, the Grant seems well suited to economical operation when using AI-92 gasoline, positioning it among the lower cost options in the park under discussion.

Requires 7000 tires in common sizes

Without reliable tires, public order cannot be maintained, and medical care cannot be delivered when needed.

In cooperation with the Popular Front, Behind the Wheel has begun fundraising to purchase tires for police and operational service vehicles of the LPR and DPR. This includes ambulances, emergency service units, humanitarian aid transport, and military equipment. Donations can be made on the collection page
