In Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case connected to an incident involving two private security guards from the Scorpio Security Agency. On June 1, authorities confirmed that the case was initiated after an assault targeting a motorcyclist and his passenger was observed on surveillance footage and reported by local media. The private security firm involved, Scorpio, provided a statement indicating that they have already issued written references to law enforcement regarding their employees and that those references reflect favorable conduct. The company also noted that no decision has yet been made about dismissing the guards, and both individuals remain employed at the moment.
The events occurred on May 31 at a Krasnoyarsk intersection when employees of the Scorpio Security Agency allegedly detained a motorcyclist and a dismounted passenger. Local press outlets reported that the guards pursued the motorcyclist through a red light, allegedly violating traffic rules during the stop. According to the available footage, one guard delivered an impact to the head area of the motorcyclist, while a second guard struck another man with a high kick to the head. During the confrontation, a third person was assaulted for an extended period, and the first guard reportedly returned to the scene with a firearm, displaying it to the others.
Witness accounts and video analysis indicate injuries to bystanders, with one individual sustaining jaw injuries and another suffering damaged teeth, along with various other bodily injuries. In response to the incident, the Investigative Committee charged the guards under Part 1 of Article 203 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which covers Excess of authority by an employee of a private security organization. The charge carries potential penalties, including a prison term of up to two years or a fine.
Authorities have emphasized that the investigation remains active and that the case will be resolved through the legal process. The private security firm has not commented on the outcome of the ongoing inquiry beyond its initial statement, and no additional details on disciplinary measures have been released to the public at this time.
