Kazan BMW X6M Hits Pedestrians at Night Near Korston Mall
A serious road collision occurred late at night in Kazan near the Korston shopping center on Nikolai Ershov Street. A video circulating on local police channels showed a moment of high speed impact as a BMW X6M ran a red light and struck a group of pedestrians gathered at a traffic island.
Authorities report that the driver, a 25-year-old man, accelerated through the intersection at maximum speed and hit the traffic island. He then struck a young female pedestrian who was crossing with a green signal. The incident unfolded in front of other nearby road users, drawing immediate attention from bystanders and emergency responders.
After the initial impact, the BMW continued forward, striking a Nissan car that was starting to move away from the curb as passengers were entering the vehicle. The sequence of events created a multi-vehicle incident involving pedestrians and drivers in the vicinity. Medical assessments identified a concussion and a zygomatic fracture in the injured female pedestrian born in 2003, underscoring the severe trauma from the crash.
Two additional people sought medical help in the aftermath. A 23-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were treated for injuries sustained during the event. Authorities indicated that the injuries ranged in severity, with medical teams providing ongoing care as needed.
Following the crash, traffic police opened an administrative investigation against the driver. Seven administrative protocols were prepared to address various aspects of the incident and the driver’s conduct. The BMW was towed from the scene and secured in a private parking area while investigators collected evidence and evaluated the full circumstances surrounding the crash.
In a separate development, law enforcement recently reported the detention of a fraud suspect who allegedly deceived a prospective car buyer out of 2.7 million rubles. These two stories reflect ongoing challenges faced by Kazan authorities in areas such as traffic safety and consumer protection. While distinct, both events highlight the role of enforcement agencies in maintaining street safety and trust in financial dealings.
