KAMAZ Expands K5/K4 Cab Tractor Output While Modestly Cutting Vehicle Sales

KAMAZ Adjusts Output and Expands Cabred Tractor Production

KAMAZ plans to cut overall vehicle sales from 44 thousand to 40 thousand units, a roughly 9 percent decrease. At the same time, the company aims to boost the production and sale of tractors with the K5 and K4 cabs by about 60 percent. The transition to new models will involve upfront costs that will compress the factory’s near-term profits.

The share of K4 and K5 trucks is expected to rise by 17 percent, reaching 26 percent of total plant output. This equates to around 10.6 thousand vehicles, with the majority of this tranche being K5 models.

Following Daimler’s exit from Russia, KAMAZ opted not to imitate the German cabin design. Instead, the company chose to refine and improve the K5 cab. The K5 cab tipper was planned for a late 2023 release after earlier timelines indicated a 2022 start.
