In 2003, Kaiyi is set to roll out three new crossovers. The industry buzz suggests they will debut in mid-April, with certification processes already underway, according to Kai Rus sales director Dmitry Ivanov.

Exact pricing remains under wraps, but the crossover lineup is expected to fall in the 1.8 to 3 million rubles range. While the company finalizes configurations, Ivanov noted that decisions on trim levels and features are still being honed.

In size, the compact crossovers X3 and X3 Pro align with the dimensions of the Kia Seltos familiar to Russian buyers. The Kaiyi X3 measures about 4000 mm in length with a wheelbase of 2632 mm, while the X3 Pro shares the same chassis but steps up to a turbocharged 1.5-liter engine producing 147 horsepower. The standard X3 uses a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine delivering 116 horsepower. Both variants pair with a continuously variable transmission. The models were showcased in Moscow in a recent presentation, underscoring Kaiyi’s push into the regional market.

Looking ahead, 2023 is expected to bring another Kaiyi addition to the lineup: the X7 Kunlun mid-size crossover, which is anticipated to be powered by a 2.0-liter turbo engine generating roughly 249 horsepower. This expansion signals Kaiyi’s broader strategy to broaden product coverage across different segments while leveraging turbocharged performance to appeal to a diverse buyer base.

  • On the eve of official sales, Avtotor announced the price positioning for the Kaiyi E5 sedan, highlighting strategic pricing moves within the brand’s portfolio.

Overall, Kaiyi’s upcoming crossovers are positioned to offer competitive powertrains and contemporary design language, with a focus on value and feature content that aligns with consumer expectations in both the Canadian and American markets. The company appears to be signaling a broader push into global markets, combining European-inspired styling cues with efficient turbocharged options and modern transmissions to enhance everyday usability for families and urban drivers alike.
