The July pricing scene for Russia’s five most popular cars in the top twenty saw a dip. Citing a study by Auto Discovery and reported by TASS, the trend shows buyers paying less for several well-known models as the month closed.
Leading the pack in terms of price relief was the Chinese SUV Haval Jolion. Its average cost slid to about 2.25 million rubles, a fall of six percent from June. This decline pushes Jolion ahead as the model with the most noticeable price drop among the top tier.
Close behind is the Skoda Rapid, which averaged around 1.2 million rubles in July, marking a four percent decrease compared with June. The rapid drop underscores a broader pattern where mid-range options became more affordable within a single month.
Another Haval model, the F7 SUV, also saw a reduction, softening by 80,000 rubles, or roughly three percent, leaving its average price near 2.92 million rubles. The sustained pressure on Haval products suggests continued pricing competition among compact and mid-size SUVs in the market.
Rounding out the five least expensive options were the Niva Legend SUV and the Lada Granta sedan. The Niva Legend’s price declined by about 1.46 percent to roughly 950 thousand rubles, while the Granta’s price eased by 0.45 percent to about 869 thousand rubles. These entries illustrate how value-oriented models remain a focal point for buyers even as overall market volatility persists.
This July price movement sits within a wider context where record supply constraints and shifting demand shapes, the other side of the coin from Russia’s new-car availability. A separate note from July 2022 recalled how price dynamics encouraged customers to consider used vehicles, with demand rising as new-car inventories tightened. In the same line of thought, a scenario often cited by dealers is that a customer who orders a new Toyota Land Cruiser today could face a multi-year wait, sometimes up to four years, before delivery. This kind of lag emphasizes why buyers frequently weigh current market prices against anticipated future availability and resale value.
