The driver involved in the incident, who was repeatedly struck by MP and MMA fighter Vladimir Ivashkin during the altercation, decided to intervene and report the assault to law enforcement. The information comes from the Telegram channel Mash.
A 26-year-old freelancer from Krasnoyarsk captured the assault on video and filed a police report, according to the publication. Doctors diagnosed multiple injuries including a fractured nasal septum, cheekbone, and a concussion.
According to Mash, Ivashkin will now be required to answer to the authorities as a result of the incident.
Earlier reports identified Vladimir Ivashkin as a deputy on the Nazarovo city council, affiliated with the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and an active MMA competitor. The confrontation occurred on Bryanskaya Street, second block, in the regional capital. Ivashkin reportedly claimed that the driver in green shorts acted disrespectfully on the road and insulted him during a verbal exchange. Ivashkin said he delivered several blows to subdue the driver and bring the situation under control.
Ivashkin stated that he slapped the man to sober him up and maintain order, insisting that the driver persisted in inappropriate behavior.
Earlier reporting indicated that Ivashkin was involved in removing a vehicle from the chief physician of a hospital and selling it, a claim that has added complexity to the narrative surrounding the incident.
