In Ufa, Traffic Police Seize Vehicle Over Fled-Scene Incident and Forgery Findings
A local resident in Ufa had the car confiscated by traffic police after leaving the scene of an accident and abandoning a bumper at the site. An official check uncovered that the vehicle’s markings had been altered. This information was reported by the Ufa State Traffic Inspectorate via its Telegram channel. The other involved party, the owner of a Lada Granta, who was connected to the incident, later approached the police with a report.
Police communications indicate that detectives used traffic cameras to trace the route of the suspect vehicle through the city of Ufa. The driver, a 36-year-old local, was detained. During the inspection of the car, investigators found that the vehicle’s body identification number did not align with the data in the existing vehicle database. This discrepancy prompted further scrutiny into the vehicle’s identity.
Additional findings showed that the driver previously had his license suspended and was operating the vehicle on a counterfeit license. As a result, the violator’s car was seized and placed in a private parking facility. The authorities also indicated that the matter would proceed within the framework of criminal proceedings related to document forgery.
