The issue of inflated dealer prices for special equipment packages remains fresh in memory, and the current market conditions do not help stabilize new car prices either. For buyers looking to purchase from an authorized dealer, there are ways to simplify the process. Lada is noted as the most affordable brand in Russia, so the following analysis centers on this particular marque.

Additionally, Lada has historically offered an approach that can effectively reduce the total cost right before a purchase by presenting a broad set of options. What are these methods?

Method 1. Declining the motorist package (2400 rubles)

From December 1, 2021, AVTOVAZ began posting price lists that include the motorist package and other “additional options” on the official site, with the option to decline. According to the Lada.ru listing, the motorist kit includes a first aid kit, a fire extinguisher, an emergency stop sign, a reflective vest, a tow rope, and cotton gloves. The description explains that if any item in the set is missing or the buyer chooses not to use the entire kit, the price of the basic equipment for the configured package is reduced by the value assigned to that set.

In practical terms, the motorist set carries a price tag of 2400 rubles.

Method 2. Free color options (6000–8000 rubles)

Unlike the first method, most brands offer free color options for white or limit color surcharges. In the case of Lada, several non-metallic colors are included at no extra cost for certain models. The implication is that white or other non-metallic finishes can be selected without adding the 6 to 8 thousand ruble premium typically charged elsewhere. The specific color availability varies by model.

  • Niva Legend – white (White Cloud), dark green (Nessie-2), black (Black Panther);
  • Niva Travel – bright white (Iceberg);
  • Granta – white (White Cloud), black (Black Panther);
  • Vesta – white (Ice);
  • Largus – white (Ice);
  • XRAY – white (Ice).

Method 3. Declining the accessories package (8,000–30,000 rubles)

The same logic applies here as with the motorist set. The accessories kit typically includes floor mats, protective nets, glass deflectors, crankcase protection in some versions, and additional items. If the buyer declines the kit in its entirety before signing the car sale contract, savings vary by model:

  • Niva Legend — 8000 rubles
  • Niva Travel — 18,000 rubles
  • Granta — 18,000 rubles
  • Vesta — 30,000 rubles
  • Largus — 22,000 rubles
  • XRAY — 20,000 rubles
  • Additionally, recent financial news notes that central banks have shifted policy, which can influence loan rates for vehicle purchases.
