Hongqi HS7 Crossovers Reach Russian Dealers with Premium Appeal

A batch of Hongqi HS7 crossovers appeared on the market through a Russian car dealer, according to reports from the Russian newspaper. The timing and availability suggest a limited introductory offer aimed at enthusiasts of Chinese premium SUVs in the region.

Prices for the Hongqi HS7 in Russia are quoted between 6.8 million and 7.1 million rubles. The base version of this Chinese premium crossover is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine delivering 252 horsepower and a torque of 380 Newton meters. This engine is connected to a seven‑speed dual‑clutch automatic transmission, and the drive system is front wheel drive. There is also a version of the HS7 equipped with a V6 engine producing 337 horsepower and paired with an eight‑speed hydromechanical automatic transmission from Aisin, which shifts the power to the drivetrain with a smoother and more confident response.

The Hongqi HS7 cabin showcases a digital instrument cluster and a vertically oriented central media display, highlighting a modern, tech‑forward interior design. In the Russian market, the HS7 is offered with two interior configurations to suit different passenger needs: a six‑seat layout and a seven‑seat layout. The six‑seat version features individual rear seats, which emphasizes comfort and a more premium feel for rear passengers, while the seven‑seat arrangement prioritizes maximum passenger capacity.

From a dimensional standpoint, the HS7 measures a total length of 4995 millimeters with a wheelbase of 2920 millimeters. Those dimensions place the crossover in a competitive space, especially when compared to larger premium models. The overall stance and interior roominess are highlighted as key attributes that complement its premium positioning in the market.

In another notable development, AvtoVAZ announced a historic milestone by launching the production of the first car in its history with real leather interior trim. The Lada Niva Travel has been equipped with this premium interior upgrade, underscoring a shift toward higher quality materials in some segments of the brand portfolio. This move reflects ongoing efforts within the Russian automotive industry to provide more upscale options while maintaining practical pricing and durability for everyday use.
