Highway Crash Involving Ambulance Near Volgograd: Several Injured
An ambulance collided with two cars on a highway near Volgograd, according to the regional press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The incident happened on the evening of September 9 at the 794th kilometer mark of the R-22 Kaspiy highway. The official update from local authorities confirms that emergency services were immediately dispatched to the scene and medical teams arrived to assist the injured.
According to the report, a 31-year-old driver operating a GAZ-A6BR23 vehicle departed from Volgograd toward Moscow without using flashing lights. While traveling in the oncoming lane, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to enter the opposite carriageway and strike several oncoming cars, including Renault Megane, Scenic, and Lada Kalina models. The collision disrupted traffic in both directions and prompted an emergency response from law enforcement and rescue services.
The impact caused the ambulance to overturn, and injuries were reported among the ambulance crew, the drivers of the involved cars, and a passenger in the GAZ vehicle. All injured individuals were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment. The regional investigative and supervisory authorities are expected to review the circumstances surrounding the crash to determine responsibility and any contributing factors.
In a separate incident reported previously in Balakovo, a woman driving with a baby in her arms faced potential penalties for violating child safety and transportation rules. If the police confirm the violation, she could be fined 3,000 rubles for individuals. This note highlights how law enforcement continues to monitor adherence to traffic safety regulations across the region, reinforcing that penalties may apply in cases of improper child carriage and other traffic offenses. The latest updates on both events come from the regional press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and related local authorities, which routinely disseminate information to keep the public informed about road safety and enforcement actions.
