The most liquid Chinese car in Russia is the Chery Tiggo 4 crossover, equipped with a two-liter engine. This conclusion comes from a study on car residual values for the third quarter of 2022, focusing on how much value remains after ownership. Remarkably, after three years on the road, this model can fetch a price higher than its original purchase price, with a residual value of 135.9 percent. In other words, buyers could resell it for more than what they paid, a striking indicator of market demand and limited supply during that period.

Following close behind is another highly liquid option, the Changan CS35, which features a 1.6-liter engine and an automatic transmission. Its residual value stands at 132 percent, signaling strong buyer interest and robust pricing for compact crossovers in the used-car market of that time.

Completing the top trio is the Brilliance V3 crossover, powered by a 1.5-liter engine with an automatic transmission. Its residual value reached 129.5 percent, placing it among the most desirable used vehicles in the study’s scope.

Experts attribute these unusually high residual values to the sharp rise in car prices observed during the spring of 2022. This trend affected nearly every brand available to Russian buyers, leading to values that exceeded the original purchase prices in several cases.

Note: The contemporary automobile market in Russia has shown notable volatility, with price movements influenced by macroeconomic factors, supply chain constraints, and shifting consumer demand. The observed residual values reflect market behavior during a specific period and should be interpreted within that context. The study highlights how rapid price changes can temporarily boost the resale value of certain models, even as broader market conditions continue to evolve.
